Former heavyweight champion James "Buster" Douglas pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a charge of allowing his brother to use his identity to apply for a motorcycle license.

Douglas is best known for knocking out Mike Tyson for the heavyweight title in 1990.

Each faces a maximum of six months in jail if convicted.

Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles investigators said on June 8 that Buster Douglas waited in a car outside a BMV office in Columbus while his brother got a license for him. A clerk challenged William Douglas' identity, BMV spokesman Fred Stratmann said after the charges were filed.

Buster Douglas, who was born in Columbus, won the heavyweight title by knocking out Mike Tyson in 1990. He lost the title later that year after being knocked out by Evander Holyfield.
